The Vacaville Fire
Protection District is a combination volunteer/paid department
with nine paid personnel. Volunteers are not compensated for
their time. At present, there are approximately 80 men and
women in the department. Members are issued protective
clothing and must attend monthly drills for training. Each
member is issued a pager, when activated by Solano County
Dispatch; this notifies the respective personnel of an
emergency. The members then respond to their assigned stations
for assignment.
